O que acontece quando alguma coisa (que não seja energia) cai num buraco negro?
De acordo com a teoria da Relatividade Geral quando um buraco negro se forma apenas deixa ficar para trás informação acerca de três parâmetros: massa, carga eléctrica e momento angular. Qualquer outro tipo de informação relativa à matéria ou radiação lançada para o interior do buraco negro desaparece completamente. Isto significa que não podemos dizer à posteriori se o buraco negro foi maioritariamente formado por Ferro, Hélio, raios gama, carros, neutrinos, laranjas ou planetas!
Do ponto de vista interno tudo o que cai no buraco negro é esmagado e reduzido a um "volume zero" designado por singularidade.
Indo directamente à questão não se conhece nada no Universo que não possa ser interpretado em termos de energia. Na realidade mais de 70% do Universo consiste em energia escura que, embora não façamos a minima ideia do que seja, sabemos que é energia!

According to the General Relativity Theory, when a black hole forms, it only leaves behind information on three parameters: mass, electric charge and angular momentum. Any other kind of information regarding the matter or radiation thrust into the black hole's interior disappears entirely. This means that we can't say a posteriori whether the black hole consisted of mostly Iron, Helium, gamma radiation, cars, neutrinos, oranges or planets!
From an internal point of view, what falls on the black hole is crushed and reduced to a "zero volume" designated by singularity.
Going straight into your question, we don't know anything in our Universe that can't be expressed in terms of energy. In fact, over 70% of the Universe consists of dark energy which, although we don't know what it is, we know at least that it's energy!
